About Bianchi
Our beloved Bianchi took her last breath in the last minutes of the last year.
She was the last survivor of the four community garden rescue kittens that
came to live with us almost 18 years ago.
She was one of the tiniest cats I’ve ever known but made up for that with an
irresistible personality that made everyone love her. She was a little imp who
could always come up with some annoying but in the end lovable trick. As an
old girl she even caught a mouse last year and brought it to us, still alive.
She loved her brothers and sisters and we have hundreds of photos of her
cuddled up sleeping with one or two or even three of them. In the end she
had forgiven Ichabod, the biting cat, for grabbing her by the nape of her
neck and pulling her out of a cardboard box in which she was hiding from him.
In the end they could eat together and sleep together on the sofa. That’s what
a great and loving kitten she will always be remembered as.
She had a great life and a good death, passing peacefully while lying beside
me in bed. I felt her breath getting weaker until it stopped. I hope she was
aware of my presence in her last moments.
She will be missed but never forgotten. RIP Bianquita.
