Bogey
On September 8, 2003, Bogey the most blessed puppy, was bestowed the gift of life. His golden presence a wondrous light, he illuminated our hearts and displaced our strife.

Each and every moment spent, with our Bogey, was a remembered treasure. Rubbing his ears gave him purring pleasure.

He would sing along to any song as long as there was a cookie involved. His voice was symphonic harmony that caused even the mourning doves to rejoice. One look with those luminous eyes and you found yourself scratching his belly as the second hand of the clock spun by.

He would lift his paw ever so gently to keep you focused on the task intently. Your shoulder was sore by the twentieth toss of his Frisbee, because he kept coming back for more.

This list is not conclusive for his other antics were even more fruitful. A three volume tome may be required to describe all the experiences at home. But his greatest present was his ability to unlock happiness with a wag of his tail. Or bury his head into your chest to remove your sorrow without fail.

On August 25, 2013, just shy of his tenth birthday, his magnificent Earthly voice was silenced. Whole years of joy glide unperceived away, while sorrow counts the seconds as they pass.

However, if you listen just right, you will hear the sweetest sound within the rhythm of our hearts. We are better because he loved us and we loved him.
