About Charlie Merz
Charlie Winston Merz
Our precious boy was born on October 28, 2011 at 12:01pm with the loving and compassionate care of his “mom” Janet of Fergus Falls. Weighing in at 1.8 pounds he was a tiny but healthy little guy and the size of a bottle of fingernail polish. Five weeks later, on November 24, 2011 at 9am he became a member of the Perry Merz family and had grown to the size of a can of tomato soup. He was a feisty, loving joy from day one and was never shy about sharing his opinion on any issue. Charlie was well known as a “talker” bringing an endless bounty of laughter and uplifting your spirits even on a bad day with array of Yorkie vocals for any situation that came up. At the age of one and now weighing a whopping 3 pounds he was joined by his biological brother Chad who was born on September 8, 2012. They became known as the “Boys'” and were inseparable buddies. They were the most handsome, loving, playful, show stealing duo one could ever experience. Craving attention from anyone they insisted on being the center of attention and with little effort always managed to do so. We had nine glorious, fabulous, loving, joyful years together as a team when in early October 2020 our beloved Charlie was diagnosed by the U of M Neurology department with a suspect occipital lesion causing him sudden blindness and mobility issues. Treatment options were minimal and on November 2, 2020 at 3:48pm he was released from his earthly limitations and joined the Angels of Yorkies. His dad and brother are left with intense grief, shattered hearts and a huge void in our lives that will never be filled. We love you so much Charlie and pray that you are safe, loved and protected.
