Dovahkiin Divine

“In loving memory of Dovahkiin “Dovah” Phoenix Divine, also known as Dovah, Bubba, Bubba Fett/Booba Feet, Buddy, Scaly Puppy, King Dovah, or 2Fast 2Dovah. Dovah was a beloved bearded dragon who brought immeasurable joy to his owner, Austin and touched the hearts of all who knew him dearly. Despite his short three years with us, Dovah’s impact was profound. His gentle demeanor, unwavering companionship, and boundless affection brought warmth and comfort to Austin’s life every single day.

Dovah was adopted by his father, Austin Divine, in the early fall of 2020. He was the smallest dragon in his group of siblings. Though he was small in size, his love for his soon-to-be adoptive parent was immense. The bond between them grew strong in a short time.

Immediately after, Austin would find work during a time when the concern for one’s health was on the minds of the whole world, otherwise known as the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite days where he would be out of the house for long periods, he always attempted to find time for his new scaly friend, whilst at the same time actively learning how to balance life between commuting to work, hanging out with his friends, most importantly, time with Dovah.

Dovah’s presence filled the room with a sense of calm and love, leaving a lasting impression on those who had the privilege of knowing him. His playful antics and peaceful nature were a source of endless joy, and his quiet strength and unwavering loyalty were a constant source of inspiration. And yet, somehow developed the skills of a model as he would always find himself in front of a camera. To Austin’s bewilderment, Dovah had shown he was more photogenic than his father.

Dovah brought delight to our lives with his lively activities, from his energetic dashes up and down the living room during his playtime outside the enclosure to his contented sunbathing on many hot summer afternoons. His spirited nature also led to endearing moments, such as his amusing combat with his reflection in the mirror, which never failed to bring a smile to our faces. As night descended, Dovah would eagerly seek out his cherished cuddle sessions with his dad, a heartwarming ritual that brought comfort and joy to both of them.

Dovah found immense pleasure in his father, Austin’s, daily ritual of preparing his favorite salad of fresh collard greens and crunchy bell peppers. The sight of Austin meticulously chopping the greens and peppers would spark excitement in Dovahkiin, who eagerly anticipated the delicious meal that awaited him. Additionally, Dovahkiin’s eyes would light up with glee when Austin would playfully sneak in the occasional blackberry, knowing how much Dovahkiin adored munching on them. This simple act of love and care further strengthened this special bond between the two, creating cherished moments filled with warmth and affection. Alongside his daily salad, Dovah enjoyed his usual fix of super worms and dubia roaches.

Dovah wasn’t like the typical bearded dragon and this is what stuck out to everyone who came to know him, as he lacked a sense of danger when it came to interacting with animals larger than him in the neighborhood. He had a deep fascination with exploring every nook and cranny he could fit his body through during outside time, often displaying a curious and adventurous nature that kept his owner constantly entertained. Whether it was climbing over rocks or investigating the garden, Dovah’s fearlessness and inquisitiveness brought a unique and lively energy to every outdoor excursion.

Though Dovah’s time with us was far too short, the memories of his vibrant spirit will forever remain in our hearts. May his legacy of love and companionship live on, bringing solace and fond remembrance to all those whose lives he touched.

Rest in peace, dear Dovah. You will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered always by all of us. Although you were taken from us too early in your young life, the memory of you will never fade. Sleep well, little one.”
