About Emmy Winger
Emmy was an African Pygymy Hedgehog with a light colored face and very uniform Quill markings of White and Brown. Her under side was all white and very soft. She was pretty small for a Hedgy and I called her my Lil Dragon because she huffed and puffed quite a bit. She was very independent, didn’t like being held, but was very fast on her wheel. She also liked to do a sliding maneuver on her bedding. She must have injured her eye doing this, which caused it to turn very red and bulge. My Vet got it back into the correct position and had a couple small stitches put on for healing. She scratched those out and a week or so later it got red and bulged again. My Vet added a couple stints to help keep it in place, but she must not have liked those either and scratched them off. I decided to have her eye removed, which healed nicely. She took some time getting used to that of course.
Then I noticed when she tried to eat, she made these mouth and tongue movements that didn’t look good. She had a Dental Cancer Mass in the very back of her upper mouth. Nothing could be done to remove it and she was suffering a lot. So I had to let her go to the Rainbow Bridge. She will have her other family members – Oliver Sr., Oliver Jr., Piper, Sammy, Bear, Whitey, Violet and Rosie to meet and help her. I’m sure they will have so much fun together. I’ll miss my Lil Huff and Puffer Dragon girl. I’ll always Love and Remember her along with all my other Little Hedgy family.
