About Eva
Passed on December 9, 2016
Eva was picked up as a stray in southern Minnesota at 3 months of age, came to us as a foster in 2007 at 6 months of age and formally adopted by us later that year. She was neophobic (afraid of new things), had a fear of other dogs and spent the first three months with us in the family room before gaining the courage to accept more. With Sue’s patient guidance, she conquered her fears and grew into a confident agility competitor despite significant health issues beginning with lameness problems starting in 2013. Idiopathic epilepsy invaded her life in 2014 with cluster seizures often having 10 or more seizures in a 24 to 48 hour period. She earned her AKC MACH (Master Agility Champion) title in 2015 with some qualifying legs earned within hours of a seizure. She continued on to qualify to run in the 2016 AKC Agility Nationals and finished 142nd in her height class despite her continued struggles with lameness and seizures. She has been a companion, a friend, a competitor and most of all, a teacher.
We miss her dearly – UWMA.
