About Fred McColman
Fred McColman crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on Thursday, March 11th. Fred was adopted from the Wadena County Humane Society in October, 2019. He was found as a stray in Wadena, and had obviously had a rough go throughout most of his life. Both hind legs had suffered serious injuries that had never received medical attention. It took him two days to leave our laundry room. When we would let him out into our backyard, for months he was terrified that we wouldn’t let him in again. Over time, he was able to relax and enjoy his new life. He loved his dog beds. He loved going for short walks around our neighborhood. He especially loved meal times and getting treats! Brunch at The Block was a favorite outing. We were only blessed with him for eighteen months. I miss hearing his weird, shuffling steps on our wood floors. I miss him bumping my hand with his nose when he wanted to get petted. I even miss him nipping at my hand when he’d had enough brushing. Fred will be in our hearts forever.
