About Izzy Stevens
Passed on June 15, 2020
On June 15, 2020, a gorgeous Monday morning, Izzy suddenly and tragically died when she was hit by a car just down the street from her home.
Although Izzy died unexpectedly, she lived every moment to the fullest. She brought so much joy, love and peace to her family, and all who knew her. For many she was “the only dog I like.” Izzy was born in Florida in August 2009, the runt of the litter. At four months old, Izzy came into the life of her mama. At almost two years old, Izzy picked her Papa, who was the only person she ever met for the first time without a bark.
Izzy loved taking walks, chasing rabbits and squirrels, camping, and rolling in yucky, stinky things. She enjoyed belly rubs, snuggling, sitting on pillows (especially in windows), and her favorite toy, a troll doll named Rosie. She traveled all across the United States, visiting or living in Florida, Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, California, and Nevada. She climbed mountains, rolled on the Pacific beach and ventured through old growth forests. She was an intrepid explorer doggy who was always down to go for an adventure.
In her almost 11 years on this Earth, Izzy brought many smiles to people by doing one of her many tricks, especially dancing. She also loved to do handstands while peeing and walking, it was quite the thing to see. This last year Izzy even learned “Speak.” She was a smart girl, who loved learning new things and chewing on sticks that were too big. Izzy is dearly loved and missed by her humans, who have a memorial dedicated to her, next to her favorite window.
We miss her every day and look forward to seeing her again on The Rainbow Bridge.
