Kyle Gatzke

Kyle has been the best dog and has brought us more joy than we could have ever imagined! Kyle had a rough start in life. He was a puppy mill dog for 5 years and was then rescued by a local organization. The first family to adopt him didn’t end up working out and he was brought back to the rescue. We like to believe it’s because he was meant to be part of our family!

He had a rough start with us as well. He didn’t trust men and he had a lot of separation anxiety. Through lots of patience, treats and love, he began trusting us and became an integral part of our family. We are so grateful that we got to spend 10 out of his 15 years with him.

He loved hiking all over MN, weekends in Duluth, beach trips and kayaking with us. Some of our favorite times with him were quarantine lock down when we were home all the time and a 26 hour road trip to Florida that he joined us on- staying in hotels and exploring so many cool stops along the way. He was there for our engagement, wedding, the births of our kids and the move to our current house. He comforted us through job loss and losing many beloved family members.

He loved laying at our feet, resting in his bed, hunting for treats in his snoop ball and snuffle mat, trips to grandma’s house and hiking at Chester bowl in Duluth. He loved running through our backyard to get to the soccer fields and woods where he could happily explore and smell all the smells freely. His favorite toys were Mr. Moo Head and Mr. Bird. We miss him immensely, as do our young kids who keep asking when their sweet pup is coming back. We love you Kyle!
