About Merlin
Passed on October 2, 2013
Twenty years ago I met my best friend ever. I found Merlin at a local Humane Society in Anoka. I spotted him out of all the others there and fell in love instantly. Another family was looking at him but passed him by because he was too squirmy. My heart rejoiced when they put him back and when I picked him up, I realized he just wanted a peek out the window so I brought him over to one and he settled right down. We bonded instantly and on the way home, he sat and purred on the passenger seat of my car, hunching his shoulders up into my hand as I went to pet him. Merlin was the light of my life for 20 amazing years. His spirit was strong and despite his declining health, he fought to stay with me. Unfortunately, as good things do, his time came all too soon. In his last hours, he was at home in his bed on top of my bed with me nearby. He passed quietly on September 2 around 8:00 pm and my heart broke.
There have been other cats through the years, but sometimes one just comes into your life and captures your heart like no other. No words can describe the bond you both share. I feel so blessed for sharing such precious time with Merlin “the one” and there will never be another like him. He will be in my memories for the rest of my life, until we can be reunited again one day. I miss you my prince. A part of my soul has gone with you and I am forever changed.
