Miley Hinschberger
June 24, 2016 – September 30, 2024
Miley Hinschberger passed away unexpectedly of acute kidney failure on September 30. She joined our family as a rescue from Second Chance Animal Rescue. She was a beautiful soul, her mom’s Velcro dog, who was always at the top of the stairs to greet mom and dad when they came in the door.
She had two nicknames: Thumper, because her tail was always wagging, and Ninja Shadow, because you couldn’t see her in the backyard at night.
Miley loved checking out the sights and smells in her backyard either by herself or with her fur sister, especially when her dad worked in the garden. She kept a watchful eye out for critters, particularly squirrels who tried to raid the suet feeder. She loved lounging on the deck in the sunshine. When she got too warm, she would roll around on her back, then get up and sit by the door to let you know she wanted to come in.
There are too many ways to say we miss her. Thumping her tail at 4 a.m. to tell us it’s time to get up. Plopping her big paws on our laps when she wanted something. Her happy eyes because she knew she was home. She will be in our hearts forever.
Big, big hug, Miley. Big, big hug.
