MISS GRACIE BELLE
10-18-02 to 12-28-17
December 9, 2002 seems like yesterday. It was the day I picked up this little 7 week old female black Labrador fur ball. I only wish I had a video of that day. Neither of us had any idea how awesome of a journey we would end up having together. I had recently chosen the name Gracie Belle as I couldn’t decide which name I liked better. Over the years, she had many nicknames, i.e. Pup, Big Dog, Stinks, Princess, and simply Grace. She was truly my best friend and was always at my side or laying at my feet. She helped me through some tough times, especially my divorce. Her favorite things in the world were going for walks, swimming at the cabin, playing in the snow, retrieving anything you threw for her, and getting as many treats and people food that she could handle.
She and I were very fortunate in that over her 15+ years of life, she had very few medical challenges. Osteoarthritis proved to be her biggest and we managed it the best we could over the last few years.
Everyone who met Gracie ended up loving her as she was very easy to love. I was blessed with having her in my life for 15 years and 20 days but it still wasn’t long enough. Saying goodbye was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do in my life and I miss her like crazy every day. She was the greatest dog a guy could have ever hoped to have in his life. I have no doubt that she is running and swimming again in doggy heaven and having all the treats her stomach can handle. I will see you again little girl! Papa will always love you and you will never be forgotten.
❤ R.I.P. Miss Gracie Belle ❤
