About Ollie Meyer Kerstein

Passed on March 8, 2024

Ollie Meyer Kerstein / July 3rd 2022 – March 8th 2024

Ollie Meyer Kerstein, age 1, sadly passed away peacefully in the arms of the one he loved.

Ollie was a loving spunky puppy that made his new dad pick him. From the moment he came home they were inseparable, partners in crime through everything. Ollie had two brother dogs and a kitty brother and together they were a family. Unfortunately, in October of 2023 Ollie lost his brother Koda (German Shepherd)  to a very tragic accident.

Around his first birthday Ollie began having Urinary and GI issues that persisted throughout the fall. On November 17th 2023 Ollie had his first seizure and spent a couple days hospitalized. He started losing weight fast as he could not absorb any nutrients form his food and could not properly absorb the medications which made his seizures hard to control which eventually led to the end.

Ollie was full of life and did not deserve the card that he pulled in the race of life. He loved every creature on the earth and would have done anything for me or his brother Luca.

Ollie is survived by his dad Miles, and his brothers Luca (Black Lab) and Ben (Domestic Shorthair)

Thank you for all of the loving memories and you will never be forgotten. Fly high buddy you are so loved.  Your dad can’t wait to see you again someday and hope you are chasing all the birds and running around with Koda.

Here is a poem that has helped Miles get through this very difficult time:

When tomorrow starts without me,

And I’m not there to see;

The sun will rise and find your eyes

All filled with tears for me.

I know how much you love me,

As much as I love you,

And each time that you think of me,

I know you’ll miss me too.

But when tomorrow starts without me,

Please try to understand,

That an angel came and called my name

And petted me with her hand,

I thought about our lives together;

I know you must be sad,

I thought of all the love we shared,

And all the fun we had.

So when tomorrow starts without me,

Don’t think we’re far apart.

For every time you think of me,

I’m right there in your heart.
