About Otis Otto
Passed on May 10, 2017
Our family has had quite a few Puppies and Dogs in our lives between owning and fostering. Otis was the fourth dog we have owned. Otis was only eight weeks old when we got him. Otis was the true meaning of a dog. From the moment he would get up in the morning until it was bedtime Otis just wanted to play ball. Otis would carry a ball around in his mouth all day long waiting for someone to throw it to him.
Otis also was very concerned about the well being of his family members the slightest sneeze or cough from one of us he would come running to make sure we were ok. All around Otis was a one of a kind and a true Best friend. Right around Easter we noticed Otis had a slight cough and he was having a slight harder breathing pattern. After trips to our vet, it was confirmed Otis had Lymphoma, with 60% of his lungs filled. Our vet explained the timeline that some dogs may last six months others just a few weeks. We decided Otis needed a Bucket list before he would pass. So on May 6th for his 8th birthday we bought him 75 Squeaker Balls and made him a Steak dinner. The whole family was with him to celebrate. We decided that we wanted to have Otis put to rest in the comfort of our home to be surrounded by the whole family and our other two dogs. On May 10th Otis was having difficulty breathing and we made a call to Blue Skies Pet and they were at our house within the hour.
Its only been a couple of weeks and the Heartbreak will take a long time to heal but knowing he was here with all of us as he took his last breath in the comfort of his home makes our hearts a little lighter.
