About Torii
Passed on November 3, 2015
Torii was our baby girl. She was brought home by Kevin to help comfort me after moving to Brainerd…. she has done this comforting for the last 14 and a half years. When Kevin brought her home I remember not knowing how to act with a dog… what to say or do how to cuddle or play with her but she was patient and taught us quickly how to do these things… she trained us well. Torii was energetic, adorable, sweet, funny, a world class cuddler and the list could go on.
We fought like mother and daughter and she ran to dad when she thought I wasn’t fair. She loved us both so genuinely and fairly. I am honored to have been her mama for the last 14 years.
Torii was taken to heaven on Tuesday November 3rd at 10:30 pm. There will never be another dog like her and she will be missed by so many.
After being so well coached on how to live with and love her I wish she could teach us now how to go on without her. She hated it when I cried and always wanted to kiss away the tears. There is an emptiness that meets me around every corner, her blanket nest still sits on the couch in front of me as I write this. With time, I know that we will cry less but continue to miss her the same. She was an essential part of our little family.
What I want for everyone to do when you are done reading this is to remember to kiss-hug-squeeze and tell your dog-cat-guinea pig-horse-whatever how much they mean to you. Tell them what they bring to your life by being in it. You know as well as I do that they understand you.
Help them to their special spot in the house, with a special treat, look them in the eyes, give them a smile.
We are not promised tomorrow…
