Two, aka, Twoodles, Tupac, Little Deuce Coupe
Everyone likes to say their dog was the sweetest, most loving dog ever. My little Chihuahua was indeed loving but quick to “give you the finger,” as I like to call it. You’d want her to come sit by you, but she’d give you a look and head off to her room by herself. I think she was half cat. She certainly marched to her tune and did things her way and in her time. Two loved me, though, and even when she was at her most sick, she’d still be at the door, barking and waiting on me every day when I got home from work.
She loved her belly rubs, and later in life discovered she loved ear and chin scratches from Momma Alex. She loved her big brother, Biggie. (Yes, Biggie and Tupac). They were inseparable. My best friend, Michele, gave me the two dogs. I was only going to take one and probably would have chosen Biggie, but she insisted I take both of them. She knew I worked nights and didn’t want whichever one I took to be lonely.
Turns out I spent a lot of time with both of them, working from home. Those two dogs gave me a lot of comfort. They made me laugh, and they were there for me when I cried. We three went through a lot.
Two inherited her Daddy Bailey’s bad heart, but like him, she showed tons of heart. She lived a good life, chasing her much bigger, adopted sister, Leyla, right until her last days. I miss her so much and think of her every day. She had a lasting impact on my life and will always be my favorite (just don’t tell Biggie).
